Most Embarrassing Moment

My darling friend Elisabeth just posted about a hilarious and embarrassing moment that she recently experienced, so I felt inspired to reveal (for those of you who didn't get to witness it first hand) an extremely embarrassing (and extremely painful) moment of my own:

About a year and a half ago I was at my cousin’s Bridal Shower and, luckily, it was with the early crowd before the party had actually started and pretty much just my own family was there when this happened. Anyway, everything in this house was absolutely spotless to a fault, and it was a nice sunny day outside. I wasn’t wearing my glasses, but I could see that my sister was arriving and heading towards the porch. To me, it looked like the spotlessly clean glass door was actually no door at all. Not only did I bash into it face first, I literally took a running leap into it. Yeah, spotless no more. My face was now imprinted on it. At a freaking wedding shower. In front of everyone. My sister was the only one who actually got to see my face splat, but I am pretty sure that my Grandma peed more than a little from laughing so hard. It was such an intense collision that I still can't believe that I didn't black out for a while, because I could certainly only see blackness in my vision for a few seconds afterwards. It would have been easy to just not talk about it once everyone else arrived, but I smacked my face so hard that I was bleeding from the bridge of my nose and my lip was getting fatter by the minute because I had practically bitten right through it and so I was holding an ice pack to my face the rest of the time. Repeated explanation was unavoidable. For the remainder of the shower everyone kept throwing me less than subtle glances and chuckling as I attempted to avert my face from attention. Yeah. . . awkward.

I know I already responded, but I thought I'd add....that's what they get for having clean windows. It's a safety hazard and they're lucky it was YOUR beautiful face smashed into it instead of....I dunno...bugs or something. :)

Does this mean we all have to reveal our most embarrassing moments now? I don't think there's room on the blog for all mine!

I'd like to personally comment since I was there to witness it first hand! And it was HILARIOUS- now that we all know she's ok! :) It was possibly one of the loudest sounds I had heard in a LONG time- I actually was surprised that she didn't break the glass, but she didnt- it held! "D@mN English Oak!" LOVED IT HAYLS!!! :)
